Start Using Forex Signals The Best Way From Now
You can learn how to actually use forex signals, track buy and sell alerts, place stop loss and take profits here for free.
So, if you are new to forex and you are asking yourself how people know when to buy and when to sell a currency pair?
Forex signals will just give you the good trading opportunities without having to look at your screen for lots of hours trying to know these charts all by yourself.
At Krystal Pips, we are here to help forex beginners learn how to use forex signals, know how to read trading instructions and set your stop-loss targets more effectively.
You shouldn't have to be an expert before you start learning, but you do need to practice, be patient and have a plan for risk management.
What Is a Forex Signal?
A forex signal is a trade idea that indicates whether the currency pair might be a good buy or a sell.
Typically, it will contain the currency pair, the trade direction (long or short), entry price, and take-profit and stop-loss levels.
Just like on a map. A map will show you way to your destination, but you still have to drive there.
Forex signals will give you position for a trade but they won't tell you that you're going to profit from it.
You might also get a signal that says to buy EUR/USD at 1.0850. This is the currency pair that compares the euro versus the US dollar.
If the signal analyst believes that the euro will increase against the dollar, then they will tell you to buy the pair.
In this case, the signal is to go long (buy) EUR/USD at 1.0850. The stop-loss is at 1.0820 and the take-profit is 1.0910.
In case the market moves lower and hits your stop-loss, you will be out of the trade with a loss, in case the market moves up and hits your take-profit target, you will be out of the trade with a profit (minus trading costs).
Forex signals are given by people (analysts), platforms, robots and those who provide signal services like Krystal Pips.
Types of Forex Signals
Not all forex signals are the same. It is important to understand the types of signals to see which one best suits you, depending on how much experience you have and the way you trade.
1. Manual Forex Signals
The manual signals are created by a human who analyzes the forex market. He looks at the charts, the support and resistance levels, the economic news, and other information before recommending a trade.
Say for instance you are looking at a particular currency pair and you realise that the pair has broken through a certain level of pricing that had been hard to break through until now.
The forex analyst is likely to then make a buy signal if everything else backs it up.
Manual signals have the advantage that a person can think about various market environments. The analyst can also make mistakes, get a wrong idea, or get losing trades. So be very careful.
2. Automated Forex Signals
Automated signals are those created by a computer program or trading algorithm.
These algorithms use rules to help see trading opportunities.
Automated signals may save you time, but they are only as good because they follow rules and the data that have already been set for them.
A system that does well in only one type of market may do poorly in a different type.
3. Free Forex Signals
Free forex signals make it easier for new traders to test trade ideas without paying for a subscription.
They can be showed on websites, on mobile apps, in messenger groups, and other trading communities.
4. Paid Forex Signals
This signals generally cost a fee, in the form of a subscription or other payment. They may be provided along with market analysis, trade recommendations, and educational material and support.
But before you pay for a service and confirm what you are getting.
5. Buy and Sell Signals
Buy signal indicates that the price is expected to go up, while a sell signal indicates that the price is expected to go down.
When trading forex, selling a currency pair usually implies you believe the base currency will fall. You do not have to be long the base currency to sell it.
Rememeber that a signal is a suggestion, not an order you have to adhere to.
You can skip a trade if it is not clear to you, and you are unable to face the danger.
How to Use Forex Signals for Beginners
If this is your first time trading forex, you don't have to know all the market indicators to understand how to use forex signals.
Just start with something simple and then go step by step.
1. Choose a forex signal provider you can work with
The first thing for you to do is to get a signal provider who can provide clear explanations of the trading ideas for you.
You may find forex signals on websites like Krystal Pips, apps, trading platforms, or telegram channels.
When you are using Krystal Pips, take time to understand the information that is available before you decide how to use it in trading.
2. Open a forex trading account
If you want to make a forex trade, you must have an account with a broker that offers the service of currency trading.
But choose a broker that is regulated by the financial body for your country.
Read its charges, spreads, rules for withdrawal, available currency pairs, and trading conditions before you make a deposit.
If you are just starting, you should try a demo account. With a demo account, you can trade with virtual money, so you don't lose your money.
3. Try to understand the signal first before you act
Let's say we at Krystal Pips give a signal, which indicate a long trade on EUR/USD.
Before you do, look at this following questions first:
What currency pair is the signal for?
Is it a buy or sell signal?
What is the entry price?
Where should the stop-loss be placed?
What is the take-profit target?
Is the signal even valid or has the price moved?
What will be the loss if the trade does not work?
Don't guess information that the signal doesn't tell you to make the trade understandable.
A signal that has been put in too late could no longer present the chance. The price may have moved away from the suggested entry, altering both the reward and risk.
4. Please know your risk before entering a trade
This is one of the most important aspects for those just starting.
What if you have $200 in your account and you are going to risk no more than 1% of your account on one trade? Know that 1% of $200 is $2.
So you would make the position to where a stop-loss would be costing you somewhere around $2, not including any extra execution costs or slippage.
The size of your position should be based on the distance to your stop-loss.
Usually, the broader the stop-loss, the smaller the position you should take to maintain the same dollar risk.
5. Place the trade and set your stop loss
Now that you already know the signal and double checked your risk, you are now ready to get in or not in.
Open your trading platform, select the currency pair, select buy or sell and enter your position size.
If you continue, set your stop-loss and take-profit as per your plan.
Look at all your numbers again before confirming the trade. Because you might select a wrong currency pair or add an extra zero to your position size, causing you to enter a trade accidentally.
6. Monitor the trade without panicking
Once a trade is entered, stick to your plan.
Never be too quick to get out of a trade just because the market has turned briefly against you.
Equally, do not expand your stop-loss out of hope that the price will turn.
When that trade hits the stop-loss, take the loss as planned and go back to what happened.
When that trade hits the take-profit, write the result and move on.
Never open too many similar trades just because you have a lot of signals. At times it is possible for a few currency pairs to move in the same direction, so you could be carrying the same risk in these trades.
7. Write down your findings
Have a trading journal. So you can write the date, trade, currency pair, signal provider, entry, stop-loss, take-profit, result and why you took the trade.
Once you have accumulated a number of trades, analyze the trades.
It will help you will find that some signals perform better in some market environments than others, or that using a certain spread or late entry significantly changes your results.
By keeping a trading journal, you learn lessons from small losses and big wins.
What Can Go Wrong With Forex Signals?
Forex signals are meant to help you structure your trades and to form a trade plan, but there can be various issues that can influence it.
1. After a signal is too late
A signal may be good when it occurs but becomes less appealing once the price moves. A late entry can raise your risk or lower your profit.
So, check that the proposed entry is still current.
2. You are spending money excessively
You can have a winning trade with a signal and then you may be expecting the next signal to also be a winner.
But unfortunately, even a quality signal service provider will have losing signals.
So, don't use money that you can't stand to lose to play the game.
3. Trusting unrealistic profit claims too quickly
Be careful of promises to make a profit through forex, big wins or a trading system that will never lose. No program can win by always.
So, before buying signals ensure there is a clear log and confirm the provider's identity.
4. Trading costs
Spreads, commissions, overnight fees and slippage will take their toll on your return.
A sure money maker in the pip chart may turn out to be a money loser in your account.
Review your broker charges and compare actual results to the initial signal.
5. Not learning the fundamentals
If you rely purely on signals and have not learned how trading works, you are likely to get into trouble when the signal becomes confused or the market changes.
